Ooh Baby! I want one of these!

In case you have not looked at your calendar, the shows start in less than 30 days! I am looking forward to meeting many of you there!

Many, many of you have been waiting for a better picture of the HoneyBee G2 Ultralight.  Well here it is.... This picture is such a perfect shot of a beautiful, sweet little Ultralight Gyroplane. Some how we just have to keep one of these around for me to fly.... Ultralight gyroplanes are where I started 14 years ago....I am still not over my love of Ultralight gyroplanes; especially the HoneyBee!

There are great things coming!

Maintenance

Good Morning! For those that this applies to, Happy Father's Day!

This morning, I want to answer a question about maintenance that shows up in emails on a regular basis. This prompting more recently came from Sam Johnson....here was my response.

The drafts for the Pilot Operating Handbooks for each of our the frames are underway and will be included with each of our G2 models soon.  In them, there will be a complete section on maintenance pursuant to each model. Until then, please allow this list to provide you with the big points:

  1. Normal pre-flight inspection before every flight; We stress this very heavily…
  2. Change Fuel lines every twenty-five hours; unleaded gas is hard on fuel line. 100LL is worse on the engines because of all the lead in the fuel….
  3. With two-strokes, we change the plugs every twenty-five hours
  4. With two-strokes, we re-torque the intake, exhaust and cylinder heads every ten hours.
  5. Rotor Head “Jesus” bolt is removed and greased every ten hours. We are making changes to our heads so that this is done via grease zerk
  6. The Rotor Head is removed and sent to the factory every 300 hours for inspection and replacement of the main bearings.
  7. Two Strokes, depending on brand, get a mandatory crank inspection at 250 hours and a major overhaul at 350 hours (Rotax) and 500 hours (MZ’s)
  8. The Four strokes will run out to about 1,000 – 1,500 hours on TBO’s.  We never have to re-torque heads, exhaust, etc….see why we like them so much!
  9. The Four strokes get an oil change every 25 hours, plugs every 50 hours or at the annual
  10. The normal tires, props, cables are really going to vary depending on whether you fly off grass or pavement.

I hope this helps all of you.

Take care,

Jim

Suzuki On The Move!

Welcome to the Dogs Days Of Summer in Michigan! It is hot and humid, farmers are going crazy getting their corn in and we have moved the Suzuki. Those that have followed the progress on the Suzuki Powered HoneyBee G2 Two Place Tandem know that I absolutely love the engine. It is smooth, reliable and powerful; without the Turbocharger however, it just isn't enough for the Two Place. Even though the frame flew well with the ROTAX 582, it will fly incredible with 25 more HP!

This is just one of the things that we are doing this Summer, before the shows! Wait until you see what else is coming!

I will have a full report up on the Blog as soon as the Suzuki flies!  Now the SP-HP will live up to its name!

More to come,

Jim
